The Deep Water Band is a Christian band based out of East Central Illinois. Even though the band name is new: Members of the Deep Water band are no strangers to the music scene.

The band has played under various names over the last several years: Full Circle, Brad Brown and Friends and most recently, Brad Brown and Freedom. After much prayer and discussion it was decided to officially title the ministry "The Deep Water Band."

The name Deep Water comes from scripture in Luke chapter five when Jesus tells his new disciples to cast out into the deep water. After following what Jesus had commanded they brought in so many fish their nets and boats could not contain them. We as Christians are instructed to head for deep water and become fisher's of men. This is the band's main focus as a ministry group, they pray that God makes them effective only for Him.

All the members of the Deep Water Band bring a different element to the stage each night, with various musical backgrounds reaching into Southern Gospel, Black Gospel, Country, Classic Rock, Jazz and other musical genres. With this variety, The Deep Water Band brings a different and unique sound all their own each time they play.

Many have described the group as 'Gospel music with a twist' - If labeled they would be under the category of Progressive LIVE Southern Gospel music.

The band's roots started in a little Christian Cafe in downtown Mattoon, Illinois : Where Brad Brown and Blake Babbs formed a small Christian band following their High School graduation. The band started as "Full Circle" and played every Friday evening for 3 years at this venue. The popularity of this Friday night hot spot grew over the years, and the band started traveling to churches, festivals and revivals.

Many things have changed since that first gig in 2005 : band members have come and gone, band names have evolved : But the music and their love for God, through the ministry, has remained the same.

Deep Water desires to give God all the glory and honor through their ministry of music, and pray their music is a tool that brings about worship and joy into people's hearts.

The band recently recorded their first professional album with TMC Recording studio in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The CD is available at Central Community Church during the week and at all The Deep Water Band concerts.
